Bangor University, located in Bangor, Wales, is a renowned public institution. It was granted its Royal Charter in 1885 and played a key role in the establishment of the federal University of Wales.
It underwent a name change in 2007 when it gained independence from the University of Wales. Previously known as the University College of North Wales (UCNW) and later the University of Wales, Bangor (UWB), it now goes by its current name.
