First City University College was founded by the First Nationwide Group, the same company behind the development of the Bandar Utama township in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. First City University College offers a wide range of educational programs in various fields such as Business, Computing/IT, Design & Built Environment, Engineering, Hospitality & Hotel Management, and Mass Communication. In September 2023, First City University College achieved a “Competitive” rating in the SETARA 2022 assessment by the Ministry of Higher Education, solidifying its position as one of the top-tiered institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. In the same year, the institution received a one-star rating in the Malaysian Research Assessment (MyRA). These accomplishments demonstrate the institution’s dedication to upholding high-quality education and standards in Malaysia’s higher education sector. First City University College was founded in 1990 as Kolej Swasta Bandar Utama (KSBU) and later renamed Kolej Bandar Utama (KBU) in 1993. In 2002, KBU underwent its second name change to become KBU International College. Back in 2014, KBU International College was granted approval by the Ministry of Higher Education to be upgraded to University College status. On December 2, 2015, KBU International College was officially declared as First City University College in a ceremony that took place on its campus grounds in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya. The campus of First City University College is located on a 13-acre site in the International Education Hub of Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya. The campus provides on-campus student housing (First City Residence) with round-the-clock security provided by the auxiliary police. The Sports Centre is equipped with modern facilities for students to enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor sports activities such as football, volleyball, futsal, table tennis, badminton, and basketball. First City University College provides a range of industry-focused programs in various fields such as Business, Computing/IT, Design & Built Environment, Engineering, Hospitality & Hotel Management, and Mass Communication. Our academic programs are available at Foundation, Diploma, Degree, and Masters levels. All programs have received full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.
