Rangitoto College is a prestigious secondary school situated on the beautiful North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. Similar to other secondary schools in Auckland, Rangitoto College implements an enrolment scheme to effectively manage roll numbers and avoid overcrowding. The enrolment zone of Rangitoto College spans around 12 square kilometres (4.6 sq mi) and encompasses areas such as Browns Bay, Campbells Bay, Mairangi Bay, Murrays Bay, Pinehill, Rothesay Bay, Sunset North, and Windsor Park, as well as portions of Meadowood and Rosedale to the east of the Auckland Northern Motorway. Students residing within this zone are guaranteed enrollment without any possibility of rejection. Students who live outside the designated zone are considered for enrollment based on the order of preference in the enrollment scheme and through a secret ballot process.
In March 2021, the total number of students enrolled at Rangitoto College was 3284. Among the student population, there were 1578 Pākehā/European students, 1165 Asian students, 198 Māori students, 65 Pasifika students, 87 International Students, 159 MELAA students, and 32 students from other ethnicities and demographics.

In 2013, an impressive 94.4 percent of students graduating from Rangitoto College achieved NCEA Level 1 or higher. Furthermore, 89.5 percent of students reached NCEA Level 2, demonstrating their dedication and academic prowess. In 2021, Rangitoto College students demonstrated exceptional academic performance, with a remarkable 244 scholarship passes in the New Zealand Scholarship exams, including an impressive 34 “Outstanding” passes. A total of sixteen students achieved an impressive four or more scholarship passes, while an additional fourteen students were able to secure three scholarship passes. Six students were recognised with Outstanding Scholar Awards, which is an impressive achievement considering the limited number of recipients nationwide. Additionally, one exceptional student stood out by earning ten scholarship passes and receiving the prestigious Premier Scholar Award, placing them among the top 12 students in the entire country. The recipient of the Premier Award demonstrated exceptional academic achievements in Art History, Geography, and Statistics. Additionally, one of the recipients of the Outstanding award excelled in Health & Physical Education. For the fourth consecutive year, the school has secured its position as the leading scholarship institution in New Zealand.
