The American University of Integrative Sciences (AUIS) is a private for-profit offshore medical school situated in Barbados. Established in 1999, it was previously recognised as the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine (USESOM). At one point, the school operated in Sint Maarten and was acquired by IEMR LLC, a company based in the United States. Since October 2017, American University of Integrative Sciences has been operating in Barbados and is currently being considered for accreditation by the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP). In January 2024, the university is currently grappling with the possibility of closure due to financial insolvency. American University of Integrative Sciences offers a Bachelors Of Medical Sciences programme (BMsc) that allows students to fulfil their first 90 prerequisite credit hours with the university before transitioning into their Basic Sciences programme. Upon successfully completing 142 course credits, you will be awarded this degree. Currently, there are 5 students enrolled in the program.
