The University of Ottawa, also known as uOttawa or U of O, is a bilingual public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1848, it is the largest English-French bilingual university globally. The university offers a range of academic programs and is part of the prestigious Canadian U15 group. With a diverse student body, including nearly 40,000 undergraduate and 6,000 post-graduate students, the university has successfully enrolled 2,300 students into the French Immersion Studies program. The university also has around 10,600 international students from 150 countries, making up 26% of the student population. The university has an extensive network of over 195,000 alumni and its athletic teams, known as the Gee-Gees, hold membership in U Sports.
